This is an incident which recently occured while I was riding in a bus full of people from my Home to the Airport. There were particularly two gentlemen sitting in the seats right behind me and who have returned from US (both on long term assignments) about less than a month back. This is a snippet of the conversations they had over the duration 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Brag 1 :- Its so hot in India…especially Bangalore… wonder how people live without AC
Brag 2:- One time when I was in Arizona it felt so hot… this is worst than this.. I think India will never change. Same when I left for US 5 years back.
Me (thinking):- Maybe too Hot in India… but aren’t these guys sitting in the A/C bus worth only 150 INR
Brag 1:- Indigo Charges are so high 4000 INR and the airhostesses are horrible looking ..all brown skinned. Plus no water or free food. India hasn’t changed still
Brag 2:- Haan yaar, in US even the cheapest and bad airlines has pretty fair looking women airhostess and plus atleast you get peanuts and juice… Some value for Money.
We Indians cant compete in many things with US.
Me (thinking):- 4000 INR equals to almost 100-120 $ isn’t it a usual price for airfare. Arent these guys brown skinned themselves.
Brag 1:- In US in every state the food is great.
Brag 2 :- I am very religious .I used to go to Gurudwara and have langar ( free food) and man it was awesome.. much better than the langars we get in India…much better than the Golden Temple langar.
Me (thinking): -- DO people go to Gurudwara to pray or to have langar and then malign Golden Temple itself.
Brag 2: I want to give proper education to my children in future; India is not the right place.
Brag 1: Yes US must be good people to settle, educate children and live a good life
Me (thinking):- Isn’t education supposed to be best in India, weren’t you two brags educated in India and aren’t these Indians companies for which you both work for which took you to US for better opportunities?
Brag 1:- I have to come every year to see my parents else I would never come back to this Corrupted Place
Brag 2:- I agree, I have to get a new project and I am praying that I don’t get an offshore project where I Have to stay here .I am trying for a new project in UK or Germany…
Me ( turned around and asked)- Excuse me as you both Indians born and brought up in India.
Brag 1 and Brag 2 :- Yes we are Indians
Me ( asked again)- DO you both work for Internationl travel agenices?
Brag 1 and Brag 2 ( irritated about to hit me):- No, we work for Indian IT Companies.
